Let's Move! Campaign Encourages Families to Get Active Together
A new government-backed initiative, the Let's Move! Campaign, is encouraging families to discover the fun of physical activity through the New Moves Club.
With more than half of children aged 7-11 in England not achieving the NHS-recommended 60 minutes of daily physical activity, the campaign aims to inspire children and their families to try new activities together. The message is simple: getting active isn't about being the best, it's about having a go.
Schools can access a Teacher Toolkit containing a range of ready-to-use resources, including newsletter content, social media posts and WhatsApp messages to help promote the campaign within their communities.
The campaign also includes a range of curriculum-linked classroom activities designed to get children moving and having fun:
- The Swap Move
- The Movement Memory Game
- Soundtrack Statues
- Story Movers
To extend the experience beyond the classroom, families can also take part in activities at home using the Take-Home Activity Sheet, a fun badge-based challenge featuring six activities that children can complete with their family members and earn badges along the way.
The campaign highlights the importance of making movement enjoyable and accessible for everyone, helping families build healthy habits through fun, shared experiences.
